The U.K. version plays with numbers between 1 and 90 inclusive. People play bingo with tickets in the United Kingdom whereas in the United States they play with cards. Each ticket is made up of 3 rows or lines and 9 columns. There are 5 numbers in a row and each ticket has 15 numbers. A book can be purchased to play bingo; these books are a group of 6 tickets and will cover all 90 numbers. When buying tickets to play bingo, a player must buy enough to last him a session. These sessions generally last for 1 hour and between 3 and 8 games are played per session. Obviously when people play they want to win money. For this to happen when they play bingo, 1 of 3 things must happen: 1) The player gets all 5 numbers in the first row of his ticket. 2) The player gets 5 numbers in both the first and second line. 3) The player gets all the numbers in the 3 lines, this is known as a full house. When people play bingo and 1 of the 3 mentioned scenarios occur, the player must then call out house to claim his win. If a player gets the 5 numbers in the first row, the game is paused to validate the win and the winning ticket is shown on a screen. The game continues until all 3 lines on a ticket have been won. To claim for a multi-line win, the lines must be on the same ticket. The prize pool is split between the 3 winning combinations, where the bigger portion of the pool goes to the player who wins with a full house. |
