Are you a part-time model? Do you own a mint condition Monaro or a beachside apartment? Do you have a double degree or a job offer from a top Web developer? If so, thats great, and you can rightly feel proud of these accomplishments. You might even think your hot date would be impressed with them. Chances are they are. But theres a time and a place for revealing them. On your first date its just getting to know you, so its often best to keep a low profile. If you kick off listing your material possessions, outlining your CV and name dropping your celebrity friends youre going to come off like a self-centred, insecure egotist. Once youve gotten to know your date a bit better, then you can sing your own praises a little bit (if you are so inclined). But dont overdo it - humility is a much admired personality trait, and a bit of an air mystery doesnt hurt either. Rather than bragging its better to impress your date with your good manners, listening skills and quiet self confidence. Of course, a measure of charm and romance never goes astray either. |
