Because of its odd shape and size, the hammer is one of the easiest tools to lose. Ask any repairman or contractor and they’re likely to tell you putting a hammer back in their tool belt is just too inconvenient. Not only does the handle dangle, hitting you in the leg as you move around, when you’re ready to use it again, you have to struggle to get at it. First you have to pull up on the handle, then flip the hammer over before you can bang on your next nail. They say there’s a solution for every problem. For those who can’t afford to waste time dealing with the tool belt’s shortcomings, or the loss of a valued tool, there’s the QuickDraw Hammer Holster, just introduced at this year’s National Hardware Show in Las Vegas in May. Made of industrial strength ABS material that won’t break when dropped, the holster is adjustable for any style hammer, and fits comfortably on the user’s tool or waist belt. Its main feature is a quick release and load spring that allows the hammer to rest naturally in the upright position with the head down. When you’re ready to use it again, all you have to do is grab the handle and start working. It Is reversible for right and left handed users. “Contractors who tested out the tool for us were very impressed,” says Bob Cummings of Prazi USA, the device’s manufacturer. “They tell us this product is going to revolutionize the industry. Before we started shipping it out to stores, we already had nearly 500 back orders.” |
